AN ACT CONCERNING A WORKING GROUP TO STUDY HEALTH CARE REFORM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Public Health shall convene a working group to be comprised of the Commissioner of Public Health, or the commissioner's designee; the president of the Connecticut Public Health Association, or the president's designee; and representatives of hospitals, health care providers, community health centers and local health departments. The working group shall study and make recommendations concerning: (1) Opportunities for funding to strengthen community health programs under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, P.L. 111-148; (2) incentives for wellness initiatives; (3) potential changes to health care delivery systems; and (4) issues relating to chronic disease. Not later than January 1, 2013, the working group shall report its findings to the Special Advisor to the Governor on Healthcare Reform and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
