AN ACT CONCERNING THE PERCENTAGE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS REQUIRED IN A MUNICIPALITY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 8-30g of the general statutes be amended to provide that the percentage of affordable housing required in a municipality be indexed to the percentage of minority students in schools, so that when a municipality has achieved a twenty per cent minority population, the affordable housing requirement shall be reduced from ten per cent to eight per cent of housing stock in the municipality; when a municipality has achieved a thirty per cent minority population, such requirement shall be reduced from eight per cent to seven per cent; and when a municipality has achieved a forty per cent minority population, such requirement shall be reduced from seven per cent to six per cent. Statement of Purpose: To provide an incentive for school integration.
