AN ACT CONCERNING EXPEDITED DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 46b-67 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a court may enter a decree dissolving a marriage prior to the ninety-day waiting period when one of the parties to the divorce proceeding is incarcerated for a crime related to a domestic violence incident.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect victims of domestic violence by expediting a divorce proceeding when one party to the proceeding is incarcerated for a crime related to a domestic violence incident.
