AN ACT CONCERNING THE TIMING OF CERTAIN SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That subsection (b) of section 9-164 of the general statutes be amended to provide the Secretary of the State with discretion to combine a special municipal election brought about upon application of electors with a regular election, if the special municipal election falls within thirty days of the regular election. Statement of Purpose: To save municipalities money by allowing them to combine elections that fall within thirty days of one another.
