AN ACT CONCERNING CERTAIN APPLICATIONS FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK PETROLEUM CLEAN-UP PROGRAM. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to provide that, notwithstanding the provisions of section 22a-449f of the general statutes, any person owning real property that is used for a commercial purpose and that is located in a town having a population of not less than fifty-eight thousand persons but not more than sixty-five thousand persons may submit an application or request for payment or reimbursement from the underground storage tank petroleum clean-up program, provided such person (1) previously received a demand letter from the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection seeking payment or reimbursement for costs incurred by the state, pursuant to section 22a-451 of the general statutes, and (2) received notice of a release or suspected release from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on or before April 1, 2003. Statement of Purpose: To enable the filing of certain applications for reimbursement from the Underground Storage Tank Petroleum Clean-up Program.
