AN ACT PROHIBITING THE PURCHASE OF ALCOHOL OR ADULT ENTERTAINMENT WITH STATE CASH ASSISTANCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapters 319s and 319t of the general statutes be amended to prevent the purchase of alcohol, gaming or adult entertainment with electronic benefit transfer cards issued by the Department of Social Services to cash assistance recipients.
Statement of Purpose:
To comply with federal law requiring states to restrict use of Transitional Assistance to Needy Families benefits.
