AN ACT CONCERNING STATE REIMBURSEMENT TO TOWNS FOR TUITION PAYMENTS TO PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS AT MAGNET SCHOOLS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That sections 10-264l and 10-264o of the general statutes be amended to require the state to reimburse a local or regional board of education in an amount equal to any tuition charged to such board by a regional educational service center operating an interdistrict magnet school for all students enrolled in a preschool program at such magnet school who are the financial responsibility of such board. Statement of Purpose: To compensate towns for the increasing costs of meeting the state requirement that cities and towns pay the tuition of a student attending a preschool program at an interdistrict magnet school and to reduce the local property tax burden on individual property owners.
