AN ACT AUTHORIZING CERTAIN EMERGENCY RESPONSE EMPLOYEES TO ENROLL IN THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subdivision (11) of section 7-425 of the general statutes be amended to allow emergency response employees other than those designated as part of a primary 9-1-1 answering point to be eligible to enroll in the municipal employees retirement system.
Statement of Purpose:
To facilitate the transition to regional emergency dispatch capabilities, to save municipalities and the state operating expenses and to improve emergency response efficiencies.
