AN ACT CONCERNING INFLUENZA IMMUNIZATIONS FOR EMPLOYEES OF CERTAIN HEALTH CARE INSTITUTIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 368v of the general statutes be amended to require each licensed chronic and convalescent nursing home and chronic disease hospital associated with a chronic and convalescent nursing home to adopt and implement a policy concerning influenza immunizations for health care employees and other employees who have direct contact with residents and patients that is consistent with the recommendations of the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the influenza immunization rates and reduce the incidents of influenza in nursing home settings because the most effective way to reach this objective is to vaccinate staff and licensed individual practitioners.
