AN ACT REQUIRING PHYSICIANS TO OBTAIN EXPERT WITNESS CERTIFICATION PRIOR TO RENDERING EXPERT OPINION TESTIMONY IN A CONNECTICUT MEDICAL MALPRACTICE ACTION. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 52-184c of the general statutes be amended to require any physician who is not licensed in the state to apply for and obtain an expert witness certificate from the Department of Public Health prior to rendering expert opinion testimony in a medical malpractice action tried in the state. Statement of Purpose: To require physicians who are not licensed in the state to obtain an expert witness certificate from the Department of Public Health prior to rendering expert opinion testimony in a medical malpractice action tried in the state.
