AN ACT CONCERNING MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR VETERANS AND MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in conjunction with the Department of Veterans' Affairs, to increase state resources to better identify through screening programs the mental health needs of Connecticut's veterans and active members of the armed forces, and to provide increased assistance where needed.

Statement of Purpose: 

To assist Connecticut's veterans and active members of the armed forces by creating a safety net of services to help their transition from the military to civilian life.
