AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN "ADOPT-A-PARK" PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) Not later than July 1, 2014, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the general statutes, to establish an "Adopt-A-Park" program for state parks and conserved green spaces, including, but not limited to, nature gardens and open space lands where passive recreational use is authorized. Such regulations shall include, but not be limited to, provisions that: (1) Allow individuals, associations and corporations to sponsor or assist in the clean-up and maintenance of such parks and green spaces, and (2) specify the requirements for such sponsorship and assistance and the minimum and maximum lengths of time for such sponsorship and assistance.

 


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish an "Adopt-A-Park" program that enables individuals and corporations to be involved in the upkeep of certain parks and open space areas.
