AN ACT ESTABLISHING A FIVE PER CENT PREFERENCE FOR STATE BIDDERS IN THE AWARD OF STATE CONTRACTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 62 of the general statutes be amended to require a state agency to award a state contract to a qualified resident bidder whose bid is within five per cent of the lowest responsible qualified bid.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide a slight preference for in-state bidders in the award of state contracts.
