AN ACT CONCERNING THE FEASIBILITY OF OUTFITTING FIREARMS WITH BIOMETRIC READING DEVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering to study the feasibility of outfitting firearms sold in Connecticut with biometric reading devices that permit only the proper owner of such firearms to use them.

Statement of Purpose: 

To determine whether the use of biometric reading devices on firearms is a feasible method of controlling gun violence.
