AN ACT AUTHORIZING TAX ABATEMENTS IN EXCHANGE FOR THE CREATION OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNITS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to authorize municipalities to enter into tax abatement agreements in exchange for a property owner's agreement to preserve a minimum of twenty per cent of all units in a mixed income housing development for families with low or moderate income. Statement of Purpose: To assist with the development and preservation of affordable housing.
