AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF HAND-HELD METAL DETECTORS BY PEACE OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to permit any peace officer, as defined in section 53a-3 of the general statutes, to carry a hand-held metal detector and use such metal detector to search a criminal suspect for the presence of firearms.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow a peace officer to carry and use a hand-held metal detector to search a criminal suspect for the presence of firearms.
