AN ACT CONCERNING HONORARY RETIREMENT PROMOTIONS FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE STATE OR THE GOVERNOR'S MILITARY STAFF. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 27-53 of the general statutes be amended to clarify that any member of the armed forces of the state or the Governor's military staff who transfers to a reserve component of the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Air Force prior to retiring qualifies for the retirement promotions specified in said section. Statement of Purpose: To ensure that members of the armed forces of the state and the Governor's military staff who served honorably are recognized and honored for their service even if they transferred to a reserve component of the United States armed forces prior to retiring.
