REP. KLARIDES, 114th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY TO CARRY A PISTOL OR REVOLVER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended with respect to eligibility to carry a pistol or revolver to extend the disqualification for having been confined in a hospital for persons with psychiatric disabilities, as defined in section 17a-495 of the general statutes, within the preceding twelve months by order of a probate court, to any such confinement within the preceding thirty-six months by order of a probate court. Statement of Purpose: To extend the psychiatric disability "look back" period for eligibility to carry a pistol or revolver.
