GENGA, 10th Dist. REP. LARSON, 11th Dist. AN ACT CONCERNING FINANCIAL RELIEF FOR MAGNET SCHOOL TUITION COSTS FOR CERTAIN TOWNS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 172 of the general statutes be amended to provide local and regional boards of education financial relief from the cost of paying tuition for students to attend interdistrict magnet schools if such board of education is for a town (1) whose school district is a priority school district that is responsible for paying more than two per cent of its equalization aid grant, received pursuant to section 10-262h of the general statutes, for tuition to interdistrict magnet schools, or (2) that is responsible for paying more than ten per cent of its equalization aid grant for tuition to interdistrict magnet schools. Statement of Purpose: To provide financial relief to school districts who are experiencing rising magnet school tuition costs.
