AN ACT CONCERNING A HOMESTEAD PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 203 of the general statutes be amended to allow municipalities to exempt from property taxation a portion of the assessed valuation of a homeowner's primary residence by reducing the assessment on such residence by up to one hundred thousand dollars.
Statement of Purpose:
To target tax relief to resident homeowners by allowing municipalities to provide a homestead property tax exemption.
