AN ACT ESTABLISHING A MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE HIRING OF SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a matching grant program for municipalities to pay for the cost of hiring law enforcement officers to stand duty in public schools as school resource officers.
Statement of Purpose:
To promote a safe learning environment in schools by establishing a matching grant program to provide financial incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.
