AN ACT CONCERNING A STUDY OF ENTERPRISE ZONE BENEFITS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 32 of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Economic and Community Development, within available appropriations, to study the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of extending enterprise zone benefits to major economic development projects in areas outside of existing enterprise zones, provided those projects include the purchase and renovation of commercial property that has been unoccupied for at least two years. Statement of Purpose: To study the feasibility of extending enterprise zone benefits to projects concerning the redevelopment of abandoned or unused properties in the state.
