AN ACT CONCERNING DONATIONS MADE FROM JOINT CHECKING ACCOUNTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to allow donors who are married and share a joint checking account to submit one check, signed by one individual, that includes a donation from each individual on such account, provided each such individual submits a donation form. Such check shall be accepted as a donation of half of the full amount by each individual and counted toward the contribution limit of each individual.
Statement of Purpose:
To simplify the accounting of campaign donations from joint checking accounts.
