AN ACT REQUIRING A PERSON WHOSE PARENTAL RIGHTS WERE TERMINATED DUE TO ABUSE OR NEGLECT OF A CHILD TO CONTINUE TO MAKE CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHILD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that any person whose parental rights are terminated as a result of the person's abuse or neglect of a child shall continue to be responsible for the support of the minor child after the date of the termination of parental rights. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure that a parent whose parental right are terminated due to abuse or neglect of a child remains financially responsible for the support of the child after the date of the termination of parental rights.
