AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDRAISING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PORTABLE COMMUNICATION DEVICES TO SCHOOLS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Education to develop a program to assist local parent-teacher associations and other school organizations in conducting fundraisers for the purpose of purchasing portable or handheld communication devices for schools, including, but not limited to, any bulk purchase agreements or consortiums.
Statement of Purpose:
To foster the use of private fundraising to provide portable communication devices to schools.
