AN ACT PROHIBITING PRICE GOUGING DURING SEVERE WEATHER EVENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit unconscionably excessive price increases for vital consumer goods and services in circumstances when the Governor proclaims a severe weather event.

Statement of Purpose: 

To protect Connecticut consumers from unfair price increases for goods and services during severe weather events.
