BYE, 5th Dist. REP. REBIMBAS, 70th Dist. AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN ACADEMICALLY GIFTED ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to establish an academically gifted advancement program pursuant to which academically-gifted eleventh grade students who pass a qualifying examination, with a priority given to such students who demonstrate an interest and proficiency in math, science and engineering, may forgo their senior year of high school and enroll at a state university within the Connecticut State University System or The University of Connecticut, provided such students maintain qualifying grades in their college level courses. Statement of Purpose: To advance academically-gifted students to higher education in accordance with their abilities.
