AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF POWERS OF ATTORNEY WHEN ONE IS COMMITTED TO AN INSTITUTION FOR LONG-TERM CARE BY A PROBATE COURT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 802h of the general statutes be amended to clarify the rights and responsibilities of one holding a power of attorney for a person placed in a nursing home or other institution for long-term care pursuant to an order entered by the probate court. Statement of Purpose: To ensure that one vested with a power of attorney can properly administer the affairs of the person conveying the power of attorney when such person is placed in a nursing home or other institution for long-term care pursuant to an order entered by the probate court.
