AN ACT PROHIBITING VIOLENT OFFENDERS FROM EARNING RISK REDUCTION CREDIT TOWARD A REDUCTION IN SENTENCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 18-98e of the general statutes be amended to prohibit an inmate sentenced to a period of incarceration for a violent crime from earning risk reduction credit toward a reduction in the sentence for such crime.
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit the early release of violent offenders by prohibiting such offenders from earning risk reduction credit toward a reduction in sentence.
