AN ACT CONCERNING EQUALIZING SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN WHO "AGE OUT" OF SERVICES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That titles 17a and 17b of the general statutes be amended so that services provided to foster children who "age out" of the Department of Children and Families at age 18 are also provided to children being raised by nonparent family members and those who "age out" of support provided under the Transitional Assistance to Needy Families program.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide services equally to persons age 18 and older regardless of whether they are raised in private foster homes under the administration of the Department of Children and Families or by family members.
