AN ACT CONCERNING THE SECURE SAFEKEEPING OF FIREARMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 29-37i of the general statutes be amended to provide that no person shall store or keep any firearm on any premises under his or her control if such person knows or should know that another person residing in the home presents a danger to self or others unless the person keeps the firearm in a securely locked box or other container.
Statement of Purpose:
To require a firearm's owner to safely secure the firearm in a locked box or container if the owner knows or should that another person residing in the home presents a danger to self or others.
