Referred to Committee on JUDICIARY

Introduced by:

SEN. LOONEY, 11th Dist.

AN ACT ELIMINATING THE OPTION OF OBTAINING AN ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE FOR A PISTOL OR REVOLVER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to eliminate the eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver pursuant to section 29-36f of the general statutes and thereby require a person who purchases a pistol or revolver to first obtain a state permit to carry a pistol or revolver pursuant to section 29-28 of the general statutes.

Statement of Purpose:

To require a person to obtain a permit to carry a pistol or revolver, rather than an eligibility certificate, prior to purchasing a pistol or revolver.
