AN ACT ELIMINATING THE OPTION OF OBTAINING AN ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE FOR A PISTOL OR REVOLVER. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to eliminate the eligibility certificate for a pistol or revolver pursuant to section 29-36f of the general statutes and thereby require a person who purchases a pistol or revolver to first obtain a state permit to carry a pistol or revolver pursuant to section 29-28 of the general statutes. Statement of Purpose: To require a person to obtain a permit to carry a pistol or revolver, rather than an eligibility certificate, prior to purchasing a pistol or revolver.
