AN ACT CONCERNING GUN VIOLENCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to: (1) Update the definition of "assault weapon" in section 53-202a of the general statutes, (2) prohibit the sale and possession of large ammunition magazines, (3) establish stricter standards for pistol and revolver permits and purchases, (4) establish permit requirements for ammunition purchases, and (5) establish a Gun Offender Registry.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce gun violence by enacting comprehensive reforms regarding the possession, purchase and sale of assault weapons, pistols, revolvers and ammunition.
