AN ACT CONCERNING CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AND THE ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTION DRUG MONITORING PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 21a-317 of the general statutes be amended to require practitioners who dispense controlled substances to register for access to the electronic prescription drug monitoring program.

Statement of Purpose: 

To determine prescription drug use and potential abuse by requiring health care practitioners who dispense controlled substances to register for access to the electronic prescription drug monitoring program.
