AN ACT CONCERNING REFERRALS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO THE BIRTH TO THREE PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to establish a pilot program in two or more Department of Children and Families' offices requiring all children thirty-six months of age or younger that are served by such offices have an open case with the Department of Children and Families, and a substantiation of abuse and neglect shall be automatically referred by the Department of Children and Families to the birth-to-three program and evaluated for eligibility for services under such program.

Statement of Purpose: 

To pilot an automatic referral process from the Department of Children and Families to the birth-to-three program.
