AN ACT CONCERNING CONFLICTS OF INTEREST UNDER THE CODE OF ETHICS FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 10 of the general statutes be amended to provide that any public official who (1) receives a contribution of over one thousand dollars from a labor union, lobbyist or nonprofit organization, or (2) is employed by an entity that is prohibited from making campaign contributions, shall be prohibited from acting on any matter involving such labor union, lobbyist, nonprofit organization or entity in accordance with sections 1-85 and 1-86 of the general statutes regarding substantial conflict of interest.

Statement of Purpose: 

To create the Connecticut Good Government Act.
