AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION CONCERNING VOTING RIGHTS TO PERSONS BEING RELEASED FROM DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION FACILITIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Correction to establish the same procedures for each of its facilities concerning those being discharged after serving their sentence. Such procedures shall require the provision of a packet to such persons which shall include, but not be limited to, information concerning the person's voting rights, and registration cards that will be sent to the Secretary of the State's office by the facility. Statement of Purpose: To provide voting information for those being discharged from incarceration.
