AN ACT CONCERNING OVERVOTING OF CROSS-ENDORSED CANDIDATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 9-242 of the general statutes be amended to provide that when a ballot registers more than one vote for the same candidate who is cross endorsed by two parties, the tabulating machine shall not accept the ballot as an "overvote" and the voter shall be instructed to fill out a new ballot.

Statement of Purpose: 

To prevent "overvoting" of cross-endorsed candidates.
