AN ACT CONCERNING TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND THE TENURE REVIEW PROCESS IN THE STATE SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) (1) The University of Connecticut, (2) the Connecticut State University System, and (3) the regional community-technical college system shall expand their respective tenure review processes to include the consideration of a faculty member's technology and research commercialization activities.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To require the state's higher education institutions to recognize the commercialization activities of faculty members during the tenure review process.
