AN ACT CONCERNING INFLUENZA IMMUNIZATIONS FOR HEALTH CARE EMPLOYEES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2013) Each hospital, as defined in section 19a-82e of the general statutes, nursing home facility, as defined in section 19a-521 of the general statutes, and emergency medical service organization, as defined in section 19a-175 of the general statutes, shall ensure that each employee of such hospital, nursing home facility or emergency medical service organization, who may have direct contact with a patient or resident, is immunized against influenza in a manner that is consistent with the recommendations of the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning such immunizations.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To require health care employees who have direct contact with patients or residents to be immunized against influenza.
