AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SPECIAL LOW PRICE FOR GASOLINE DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST, 2014.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) reduce the rate of the petroleum gross earnings tax by an amount representing a reduction of thirteen cents per gallon, and (2) reduce the motor vehicle fuels tax by thirteen cents per gallon, provided such reductions shall be effective only for the month of August, 2014, and provided further any revenue loss as the result of such reductions shall be offset by a reduction in the earned income tax credit in an amount equal to such loss.
Statement of Purpose:
To make Connecticut gasoline the least expensive in the region for the month of August.
