Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2014) (a) Not later than September 1, 2014, the regional community-technical college system shall collaborate with the technical high school system to develop a cooperative agreement pursuant to which each regional community-technical college and its neighboring technical high school may (1) share space, equipment, materials or instructors, and (2) allow technical high school students to earn college credit from the regional community-technical college. Such collaboration shall consider the necessity for a memorandum of understanding between each such college and neighboring technical high school in order to facilitate such agreement. (b) Not later than January 1, 2015, and annually thereafter, the regional community-technical college system shall report on the status of (1) the cooperative agreement developed pursuant to subsection (a) of this section, and (2) the relationship between each regional community-technical college and its neighboring technical high school to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to higher education and employment advancement in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes.
