AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LEARNING INSTITUTE TO ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF SERVICES FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That part V of chapter 164 of the general statutes be amended to establish a learning institute on the campus of The University of Connecticut that (1) provides research, training, inpatient and outpatient medical and educational support, and special education services for students in Connecticut, and (2) focuses on the development of new technology for special education students. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To establish a learning and support institute to address the emotional, physical, and academic needs of special education students.
