AN ACT CONCERNING RESIDENTIAL SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC INSTALLATIONS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 541 of the general statutes be amended to require the State Building Code be revised to require a residential solar photovoltaic system be installed (1) with a switch, circuit breaker or other device on the outside of the residential building to disconnect the direct current conductors of such system, and (2) in a manner that maintains access to the roof by a firefighter.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require accessible disconnection of residential solar panels and roof access for firefighters when installing residential solar panels.
