AN ACT CONCERNING THE PENALTY FOR ASSAULT OF AN OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER .
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 53a-167c of the general statutes be amended to provide an enhanced penalty for the assault of a reasonably identifiable off-duty police officer, provided such officer was not engaged in behavior which could reasonably be viewed as provoking such assault.
Statement of Purpose:
To protect off-duty police officers.
