AN ACT LIMITING THE AMOUNT OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASES ON PRIMARY RESIDENCES OWNED BY PERSONS WHO ARE SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE OR OVER.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that a municipality may not increase the amount of property tax due by more than three per cent in any year on the primary residence of a homeowner who is sixty-five years of age or over.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide that a municipality may not increase the amount of property tax due by more than three per cent in any year on the primary residence of a homeowner who is sixty-five years of age or over.
