AN ACT CONCERNING GLOBOID CELL LEUKODYSTROPHY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-55 of the general statutes be amended to require a newborn screening test for globoid cell leukodystrophy.
Statement of Purpose:
To detect globoid cell leukodystrophy, which is also known as "Krabbe disease", in newborns and begin appropriate treatment for newborns affected with the disease as early as possible.
