AN ACT CONCERNING TAXATION OF LAND OWNED BY NONPROFIT HOSPITALS AND PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to require nonprofit hospitals and private universities to pay a property tax on one hundred per cent of the assessed value of the land owned by such hospital or university, exclusive of open space.
Statement of Purpose:
To require nonprofit hospitals and private universities to pay a "land value tax" to the town wherein such property is located.
