AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NUTRITION EDUCATION ADVISORY COUNCIL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish an advisory council, composed of health care professionals, to (1) develop a nutrition education program, (2) make recommendations on policy changes regarding food access and hunger, (3) submit reports to the Commissioner of Public Health and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to public health.
Statement of Purpose:
To formalize a nutrition program to be adopted by school districts and implemented as part of the physical education curriculum.
