AN ACT CONCERNING REIMBURSEMENT OF COST OF CERTIFICATION FOR A POLICE OFFICER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That part I of chapter 104 of the general statutes be amended to require whenever a police officer obtains certification while employed by a law enforcement unit and is subsequently hired by another law enforcement unit within two years of such officer obtaining such certification, the law enforcement unit hiring the police officer shall reimburse the initial law enforcement unit the cost of training such officer.
Statement of Purpose:
To reimburse law enforcement units that pay the cost of training a police officer without interfering with the right of such officer to relocate and gain employment with a different law enforcement unit.
